A residential area in the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv has been hit by a missile, Mayor Alexander Senkevich said. Three were reported dead, including a child.

Local authorities also report damage and injured people.

An air raid alert was issued at 4:50 p.m., followed by explosions.

Some 6,000 Bulgarians live in Mykolaiv’s district, Ternovka.

The earliest Bulgarian settlers near the city of Mykolaiv founded the settlement of Ternovka in 1802. In the early 21st century, Ternovka became a district of Mykolaiv.
