site.btaTeam on OECD Matters to Be Formed at Bulgarian Embassy in Paris

A team will be formed at the Bulgarian Embassy in Paris to work on Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) matters, the Council of Ministers decided on Wednesday. The process of Bulgaria joining the OECD, which began on June 10, 2022, is already in an active phase of technical reviews by the OECD committees. As part of the coordination mechanism for joining the international organisation, the Bulgarian Embassy in Paris is a key element of the interaction between Bulgarian institutions and the OECD Secretariat, the Government Information Service said.

The growing frequency of the meetings in Paris and the Embassy's commitments shows clearly that the diplomatic mission's capacity needs to be strengthened by forming a team to work on OECD matters. The team will play a key role in relation to participation in OECD committee meetings and maintenance of active contacts with the Secretariat and the permanent representations of the Member countries.

On the team will be representatives of several ministries. The team will server as the basis for Bulgaria's permanent representation to the OECD once the country becomes a full member.
