"Today [Thursday], the Prosecutors Chamber of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) plans to resume the procedure for the election of a new prosecutor general. We urge the SJC not to do so," said here Nadezhda Yordanova from Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria in front of journalists in Parliament.

A Supreme Judicial Council with an expired term has no democratic legitimacy to elect a new prosecutor general for the next seven years, Yordanova said. This same SJC in its current composition elected former prosecutor general Ivan Geshev," she recalled.

Nadezhda Yordanova pointed out that CC-DB had submitted a draft bill on August 1 this year, which states that the SJC with an expired term can elect neither a prosecutor general, nor a president of the Supreme Administrative Court, nor a president of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

Asked about a post on the Facebook page of Yes, Bulgaria! (part of PP-DB) that they had received a letter from Tsvetan Vassilev with evidence of racketeering by Delyan Peevski and would insist that the Prosecutor General ask for Peevski's immunity, Yordanova said that there are procedures that are yet to develop.
