"The danger is there and we need to open our eyes. Let us open the eyes of every citizen in Europe that the life we enjoy, the life we want to be safe, could disappear, as has happened many times in history," Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said during the panel of the Munich Security Conference, dedicated to the future of Ukraine and transatlantic security, the press service of the Council of Ministers reported Saturday.

The forum was also attended by Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Czech President Petr Pavel and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In the course of the discussion, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov highlighted the support Bulgaria provides to Ukraine. "We were one of the first countries to send aid. We are discussing what more we can do with the support of other countries," he noted. Denkov said the feeling about the need for urgent support was still as strong as in the first days of the war.

During the conference, Denkov held a number of talks, including with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo, German Bundestag member Johann Wadephulm as well as with American Jewish Committee CEO Ted Deutsch.

In Munich, Prime Minister Denkov also met with Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna. In the course of their talks, Denkov said that Bulgaria remained a constant ally and supporter of the Ukrainian people. The Bulgarian Government is determined to support Ukraine and recognises its legitimate right to defend its territorial interests, the Prime Minister said.
