The total number of active users of the eHealth mobile application has reached nearly 80,000, Information Services (IS), the company that designed the app, said here on Friday. Through this app, users have full access to all  examinations, referrals, prescriptions, vaccinations, hospitalizations, laboratory test results and others registered in the National Health Information System (NHIS).

In the last three months, more than 53,000 people have linked their health records to the app. Since September 2, people without an electronic signature can visit an office of the IS, the Regional Health Insurance Fund (RHIF), or the Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI), where an authorized employee can assist them in gaining access.

According to IS data, the app has been downloaded a total of 230,000 times, with over 170,000 downloads in the past year. The most active users are from Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Varna, and Pleven.

IS Board Member and CEO Ivaylo Filipov said that the app provides patients with all necessary information about their health status, significantly improves the quality of medical services, and enhances control over public spending on healthcare. According to him, the app is very easy to use, and the information is presented in a way that is easy to understand for all.

A recent update allows users with a cloud signature installed on their mobile devices to sign up for the app without needing to scan a QR code from a desktop or visit an IS, RHI, or RHIF office. As before, users with a qualified electronic signature (QES) can link their health records directly via the browser at my.his.bg.

In September, caretaker Health Minister Galya Kondeva noted that interest in linking health records to mobile phones is high across the country and that efforts to continue the campaign will depend on ongoing demand.
