site.btaSports Minister Iliev Discusses Sports Development in Kyustendil

Youth and Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev paid a visit to Kyustendil, where he conferred with representatives of local sports clubs to discuss ways to improve sports infrastructure in the town and the region, the Sports Ministry said on Friday.

"The outdated [sports] infrastructure is a serious problem across the country, but most importantly, we have outstanding athletes and coaches. If we work in active cooperation with the municipalities, we will manage to modernize sports facilities," Iliev said.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that Kyustendil needs a new multifunctional sports hall. Youth football support, development of school games and the possibilities of applying for funding under the programmes of the Sports Ministry were among the topics discussed.
