The fire that broke out in the vicinity of the villages of Banya and Oborishte and the town of Panagyurishte Thursday afternoon has been localized, said spokesperson for the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Pazardzhik Miroslav Stoyanov on Friday. Extinguishing of individual fire outbreaks continues on Friday, so that the fire can be fully put out.

The disaster was caused by a combine harvester that caught fire during harvesting near the village of Banya. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.

According to initial data, some 200 hectares of forest have been impacted.
