site.btaParliament Continues with Second Vote on State Budget 2024
The members of Parliament Thursday are continuing with the second vote on the draft state budget for 2024. On Monday, the macro framework of next year's budget was adopted. The budgeted revenues, grants, and donations in the state budget for 2024 total BGN 43,406,519,700. Of these, tax revenues are projected to total BGN 38,116,002,000, with nearly BGN 6 billion from corporate tax. The estimated revenue from value added tax is BGN 18,626,102,000. On Wednesday, the MPs voted on a large part of the ministries' budgets, funds for culture, education, health, and security.
Several ratifications are also on the agenda, as well as the second vote on the Defence and Armed Forces Act. Amendments to the laws on Weapons, Ammunition, Explosives and Pyrotechnic Articles, Recognition of Professional Qualifications, Vocational Education and Training, and Higher Education are expected to be considered on first reading.
Also on the agenda are three draft decisions extending the term of office of three temporary committees: on the security of voting machines, on public order, and on the agreement between Bulgargaz and the Turkish state energy company BOTAS.
