Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel and British Ambassador to Bulgaria Rox Dixon have discussed the deepening of the bilateral cooperation and the strategic partnership, Gabriel wrote on Facebook on Monday. "Thank you for the good cooperation" Gabriel wrote.

The diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the UK were established on July 23, 1879, according to information of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. The UK is an important ally of Bulgaria in NATO. The two countries maintain an active political dialogue, and their cooperation is particularly active in the fields of foreign policy, economy, security, countering illegal migration, border control, cyber security, countering terrorism and cyber threats, and military and defence cooperation.
