Three-time European badminton champions Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva (women’s doubles) will start their participation at the BWF World Championships directly from the second round. The premier international tournament in badminton will be held in Copenhagen between August 21 and 27.

The Bulgarian sisters, seeded No. 13 in the bracket, will skip the opening round of the tournament, after which they will play the winners of the match between Linda Effler/Isabel Lohau (Germany) and Yeung Nga Tin/Yeung Pui Lam (Hong Kong).

If they defeat their opponents, the Bulgarians may play the No. 3 seed - the 2022 world vice-champions Kim So-yeong/Kong Hee-yong (Republic of Korea), in the third round.

In the men’s doubles tournament, Bulgarians Ivan Rusev/Iliyan Stoynov will play Jeppe Bay/ Lasse Molhede (Denmark). In the mixed doubles tournament, Bulgarians Iliyan Stoynov/Hristomira Popovska will play Jonathan Solis/Diana Corleto Soto (Guatemala).

Bulgaria will participate with five players in three disciplines at the BWF World Championships. A total of 365 players from 56 countries will take part in the event.
