250-Plus Illegal Migrants Detained
near Turkey's Border with Bulgaria

Istanbul, September 14 (BTA exclusive by Nahide Deniz) - A total
 of 257 illegal migrants were detained by the Turkish
authorities near the border with Bulgaria between September 5
and 11, according to a news item that appeared on the Internet
site of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces.

Most of the detainees at the border with Bulgaria are Syrians,
and some came from Afghanistan and various African countries.
The migrants have been handed over to the Centre for Illegal
Migrants with the Directorate of Security near Edirne and
Kirklareli, and are supposed to be returned back to their
