Bulgarian Parliament Unanimously Supports Advancement of Bulgaria-China Relations

Sofia, April 1 (BTA) - Representatives of the various political
formations in the Bulgarian Parliament are unanimous in their
support for the development and advancement of Bulgaria-China
relations. National Assembly Chair Tsetska Tsacheva and Sun
Zhengcai, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of
China and Chongqing Communist Party Secretary, rallied behind
the idea, meeting here on Wednesday.

Sun is paying a visit here between March 31 and April 2.

Tsacheva voiced satisfaction with the intense political dialogue
which is an indication of the priority that Bulgaria attaches
to its relations with China. Tsacheva extended an invitation for
a delegation of the National People's Congress of China to
visit Bulgaria.

Sun voiced satisfaction with the development of bilateral
relations and cooperation between the legislatures of the two
countries, noting stepped up exchange in trade, economy and
culture.

Bulgaria views cooperation within the 16+1 initiative between
China and Central and Eastern European countries as an important
platform for furthering bilateral relations with China in all
areas and as complementary to the strategic partnership between
the EU and China, Tsacheva said. For his part Sun noted that
Bulgaria plays an important role in the initiative and that
every beginning is difficult, but the implementation of the
project would be beneficial to all parties.

Sun underscored that stepping up contacts between
representatives of local authorities would further bilateral
relations.
