Bulgaria’s caretaker Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev has said that the Yoghurt Festival held in the southern village of Momchilovtsi serves as a bridge between this country and China, the press service of Miloshev's Ministry said on Monday. He described the event as "an excellent opportunity for Chinese tourists to visit one of the most beautiful regions" in Bulgaria. Miloshev was speaking during a working meeting attended by the Chinese Ambassador in Sofia, Dai Qingli, Momchilovtsi Mayor Siyka Kartalova-Surkova, actor and founder of the museum of magic in the village Nencho Ilchev, and Ivan Todorov of the Bulgarian Center for Development, Investment, and Tourism in China, which is among the organizers of the festival.

Todorov said that this year, a Chinese silk tapestry weaving technique known as Kesi will be presented at the festival, which will take place between August 30 and September 1. Kartalova-Surkova thanked Minister Miloshev for his support.

Ambassador Qingli noted that the yogurt from Momchilovtsi is well-known in China, where health and longevity are highly valued. He added that the village has the potential to become a very popular tourist destination among Chinese tourists in Bulgaria.
