Commenting on the glowing objects observed in the skies over Bulgaria on Sunday, Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA) Director General Georgi Peev said that there was no potential threat to Bulgarian airspace.

"The European Aerospace Agency monitors the movement of objects that enter the atmosphere, including space debris, satellite debris or other debris. When it comes to a potential threat to European space, it issues warnings accordingly. The structures of the European Aerospace Agency and NATO, and the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation, commonly known as Eurocontrol, monitor the situation and issue warnings to certain countries where there could potentially be a threat," Peev explained.

The BULATSA Director General reiterated that there was no threat on Sunday when citizens observed and photographed unidentified glowing objects in the night sky. This is why BULATSA did not issue any warnings, he said.
