A partial state of emergency has been declared in the Municipality of Stara Zagora in connection with the fire that broke out Monday afternoon between the villages of Dalboki and Oryahovitsa, said Stara Zagora Municipality Mayor Zhivko Todorov told BTA Monday.

He pointed out that the situation is currently under control, but there are outbreaks that are smoldering. There is no danger to the population and to buildings thanks to the efforts of firefighters, police, forestry officials, Stara Zagora municipal employees, volunteers and local residents. There will be firefighters on duty all night, because due to the strong wind it is possible that the fire could reignite, Todorov explained.

The Stara Zagora Municipality added that coniferous and deciduous trees, bushes and farmland have been destroyed.

The fire occurred today at 2:13 pm between the two Stara Zagora villages. The Ministry of Defence announced that a Cougar helicopter provided assistance in extinguishing the flames this afternoon in the area of the village of Dalboki, Stara Zagora Region.
