Folk ensembles from Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovakia will hold a concert on the Ohlyuva open-air stage in the Black Sea city of Burgas on August 27, the press service of Burgas Municipality said. This is the second concert in a row held as part of the Folklore Forum initiative, which is being implemented between June and August 2024.

Professional dancers from Kazanlak’s Iskra ensemble, directed by Tsvetan Tsotchev, and ensembles from Popovo, Palamaritsa, and Tutrakan will perform on the stage in Burgas, the organizers said. Romania will be represented by the Hodăceana ensemble based in Hodac and directed by Cornelia and Eugen Butilca.

All participants and their mentors will be presented with diplomas and plaquettes at a ceremony later in the day.

The forum is made possible with the financial support of the Culture Fund of Burgas Municipality. The aim is to foster the potential of talented children and adolescents who are part of folk ensembles and individual performers of Bulgarian folk music, the Municipality said.
