to Host Salon of Galleries at
End of April


Sofia, April 7 (BTA) - A Salon of Galleries is the latest
project of the National Palace of Culture to take place in April
23-27. In the four days of the event paintings, watercolours,
drawings, and photographs of Bulgarian artists will fill the
huge space of the National Palace of Culture. On display will be
collections of many municipal and private galleries from across
the country.

National Palace of Culture Director Miroslav Borshosh says that
the Salon of Galleries is to become an annual event and a venue
where galleries, authors and audience meet and discover each
other.

In partnership with the Union of Bulgarian Artists, art schools
and academies, experts - curators, art critics, gallery owners,
will be invited to consult, choose and discover new authors.
Meetings and a creative exchange will be held to discuss the
problem of promoting new artists.

The highlight of the event is a retrospective exhibition of
prominent artist Georgi Bozhilov which opens on April 24. The
visitors will also see a documentary about the artist "The Big
Goodbye" of director Kosta Bikov. PK /ZH/
