MRF Co-Chair:Party Stands Closely Behind Its Natural Leader Dogan
Shoumen Northern Bulgaria, January 9 (BTA) - "I do not expect a split of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) as the party is united and stands closely behind its natural leader Ahmed Dogan," MRF Co-Chairman Roushen Riza said on Saturday before journalists. Riza and the other two co-chairmen of the party, Moustafa Karadayi and Chetin Kazak, are taking part in an extended meeting of MRF in the region, held in the wake of the late December ouster of its chairman Lyutvi Mestan.
The organization seems to be pleased with this unification, Riza also said. Taking a journalist question, he explained that there had been tension within the party but people know why there was a change in MRF.
Asked whether a drop of the electoral support for MRF could be observed in the current situation, Riza replied that everything is possible because "a break always entails reduction of the vote". However, support may come from other circles, he noted adding that they will struggle to increase the number of supporters.
