GERB Floor Leader Tsvetanov Proposed as Head of Parliament's Internal Security Committee

Sofia, February 18 (BTA) - MPs of GERB, the Reformist Bloc, the Patriotic Front, ABV and the Bulgarian Democratic Centre Thursday tabled a draft resolution for a change in the leadership of the parliamentary Internal Security and Public Order Committee. They propose that GERB Floor Leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov head the committee, the National Assembly's press centre confirmed for BTA.

The draft resolution is signed by Tsveta Karayancheva (GERB), Valeri Simeonov (Patriotic Front), Dimiter Shishkov (Reformist Bloc), Miho Mihov (ABV), Krassimira Kovachka and Yavor Haytov (Bulgarian Democratic Centre).

Atanas Atanasov (Democrats for Strong Bulgaria within the Reformist Bloc) resigned as Internal Security and Public Order Committee Chair at the end of 2015, following the decision of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria head Radan Kanev to withdraw his support for the Government.

Tsvetanov is currently a member of the Internal Security and Public Order Committee.
