Labour and Social Policy Minister Roussinova Confers with Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Commissioner Thyssen

Luxembourg/Sofia, June 17 (BTA) - Newly-appointed Labour and Social Policy Minister Zornitsa Roussinova Thursday conferred with European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Marianne Thyssen, Roussinova's Ministry said in a press release. The two met at the sidelines of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs European Council in Luxembourg. Roussinova presented her priorities and the first steps to implement them.

Thyssen spoke in highly positive terms about the process of deinstitutionalization of children in Bulgaria. The two officials also dwelled on the implementation of the Youth Guarantee initiative. Roussinova listed the actions undertaken in Bulgaria to activate inactive young people. She said that youth unemployment in the first quarter of 2016 in Bulgaria is lower than the like period in the previous year.

In Luxembourg Roussinova also conferred with Austrian Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection Minister Alois Stoeger. The two expressed satisfaction with the productive interaction in social affairs between Bulgaria and Austria, noting that it should continue to develop with the preparation of a Third Working Programme for Cooperation 2017-2018.
