Bulgaria, China Sign Cultural Cooperation Programme

Beijing/Sofia, September 21 (BTA) - Bulgaria and China signed a cultural cooperation programme on Wednesday, said the Bulgarian Culture Ministry. The programme provides for cooperation during the period from 2017 to 2020 and was signed during an official visit to China by Bulgarian Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov.

Meeting with his guest, Chinese Culture Minister Luo Shugang said that Bulgaria has unique culture and his team wants to show it to the billion-strong audiences in China.

The cooperation programme was signed on the second day of the Silk Road International Culture Expo in Dunhuang. Participating in the forum are delegations from 85 countries.

The Chinese Culture Minister also said that it will be an honour for his country to show an exhibition of Bulgaria's Thracian treasures.

The two sides also discussed the opening of culture centres of Bulgaria and China in Beijing and in Sofia, as well as the ample opportunities that the new programme for cultural cooperation opens up for the coming four years.
