President Radev Expects to Hand GERB Exploratory Mandate on Thursday

Sofia, April 25 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev expects to hand the exploratory government-forming mandate to the largest political force in Parliament, GERB, on Thursday, April 27, said the President in response to a question here on Tuesday.

Radev added that the exact date will be determined during the consultations with GERB later in the day, when his consultations with the parliamentary groups are set to conclude.

Answering a question, Radev voiced hope that the new government serve a full term, adding that this depends solely on its own and the organization of Parliament's work. The head of State noted that the new cabinet can count on his support for all constructive proposals, ideas and programmes.

Commenting the fence along the Bulgarian-Turkish border, the President said that this is the job of experts, who will be given the opportunity to assess all facts about the fence and remove all doubts about how the money on its construction was spent. According to him, Parliament, too, could be of help in this case. "The President is not an institution that conducts probes, but I am initiating information gathering and we will discuss the way and format this information will be checked diligently," Radev told a question.
