site.btaAuthorizations for Playing Music Unduly Issued in Several Black Sea Municipalities
Sofia, August 17 (BTA) - Several municipalities along the Black Sea coast have granted authorizations to entertainment establishments to play music after 11 p.m. although the Act on the Protection against Noise prohibits playing loud music in outdoor areas of catering and entertainment establishments from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. This transpired from a check of the Supereme Administrative Prosecution Office /SAPO/.
The municipalities in question are Shabla, Kavarna, Varna and Nessebur.
The SAPO insectors have found that authorizations have been granted allowing music in resorts until later in the night as compared to residential areas although the law does not envisage such differentiation.
The issue about the levels of noise in entertainment establishments made the news after a series of checks made by Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov in night clubs in the Sunny Beach resort. Due to Simeonov's raids in the resort the organizers of the biggest electronic music festival, Solar Summer, decided on Tuesday to terminate it earlier.
