BDZ Cargo Ltd General Manager Hristiyan Krastev and National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) Director General Stoyan Stoyanov have resigned and Transport and Communications Minister Grozdan Karadzhov has accepted their resignations, the Ministry's press office told BTA here on Friday. 

The reason was a freight train collision near Sofia which took place on January 15. Two people died in the accident.

Chavdar Trendafilov will temporarily take over the management of BDZ Cargo Ltd, and Alexander Veckov - of NRIC, until the election of new management, the Ministry said. 

On the day of the accident, then caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev dismissed Biser Minchev from his post as deputy transport minister.
