According to central bank data, the balance on goods recorded a deficit of EUR 764.2 million in November 2024, compared with a negative balance of  EUR 609.3 million in November 2023.

In January – November 2024 the balance on goods was negative amounting to  EUR 4,735.8 million (4.6% of GDP), compared with a deficit of EUR 3,372.4 million (3.6% of GDP) in January – November 2023.

Exports of goods amounted to EUR 3,530.9 million in November 2024, decreasing by EUR 73.5 million (2%) from  EUR 3,604.4 million in November 2023. In January – November 2024 exports of goods totalled EUR 39,302.3 million (38.5% of GDP), dropping by EUR 975.8 million (2.4%) year-on-year (from EUR 40,278.1 million, 42.5% of GDP). In January – November 2023 exports decreased by 8% year-on-year.

Imports of goods amounted to EUR 4,295.1 million in November 2024, increasing by EUR 81.4 million (1.9%) from November 2023 (EUR 4,213.8 million). In January – November 2024 imports of goods totalled EUR 44,038.1 million (43.2% of GDP), growing by EUR 387.7 million (0.9%) from January – November 2023 (EUR 43,650.4 million, 46.1% of GDP). In January – November 2023 imports decreased by 9.4% year-on-year.

Services recorded a positive balance of EUR 449.8 million in November 2024, compared with a surplus of EUR 570.1 million in November 2023. In January – November 2024 services recorded a surplus of EUR 7,065.6 million (6.9% of GDP), compared with a positive balance of EUR 7,215.5 million (7.6% of GDP) in the same period of 2023.

The current and capital account recorded a negative balance of EUR 89.3 million in November 2024, compared with a deficit of EUR 157.1 million in November 2023. In January – November 2024 the current and capital account was positive amounting to EUR 2,541.4 million (2.5% of GDP2), compared with a surplus of EUR 1,705 million (1.8% of GDP) in January – November 2023.

The capital account recorded a positive balance of EUR 189.4 million, compared with a surplus of EUR 72.6 million in November 2023. In January – November 2024 the capital account recorded a positive balance of EUR 1,567.3 million (1.5% of GDP), compared with a positive balance of EUR 1,211.8 million (1.3% of GDP) in January – November 2023.

The financial account recorded a negative balance of EUR 905.3 million, compared with a positive balance of EUR 207.3 million in November 2023. In January – November 2024 the financial account recorded a net outflow of EUR 989.6 million (1% of GDP), compared with an inflow of EUR 1,110.2 million (1.2% of GDP) in January – November 2023.
