site.btaMyara Poll: Nearly 38% of Bulgarians Accept New Government Formula

37.4% of the adult Bulgarians accept the formula of the newly established government, according to an express poll of Myara.

The data are from an independent telephone poll, conducted on January 16 and 17 among 800 adult Bulgarian citizens.

Some 21.4% rather accept the government's new formula, 16.5% rather do not accept it, and 20.8% do not accept it at all. The remaining nearly 4% of respondents found it difficult to answer. Thus, the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov on the mandate of GERB-SDF, with the Bulgarian Socialist Party and There Is Such a Nation and with the support of ARF, gets initial public tolerance, albeit small, the pollsters add.

The data correspond with the expectations of the Bulgarians to make a compromise and form a government, a trend reported by Myara as early as at the end of 2024.

At the same time, the share of negative reactions is not small. Public acceptance is not identical to trust or approval. The most positive assessments are among the supporters of the parties in the government. In the case of the others, at best there is a sense of relief that a cabinet has been established, the polling agency says.

The picture is similar with regard to Donald Trump's inauguration as US president: for 49.5% of respondents, his coming into power brings more hope, for 35.1%, however, it is a disappointment, and the undecided are 15.4%. The hesitation becomes quite visible when the question about the war is asked - 47% believe that Trump can actually find a way out of the situation with the Russian aggression in Ukraine, whereas 44.3% do not believe in it.
