Sofia, August 17 (BTA) - No eggs and egg products contaminated with fipronil have been found on the Bulgarian market, the Agriculture and Food Ministry said here Thursday. Veterinary medicines containing fipronil are not allowed for use with egg laying chicken.

Contaminated eggs originated in Belgium and the Netherlands and spread into other European countries, the Ministry recalls.

It says that the competent authorities of the EU member states are exchanging permanently information through the RASFF alert system.
