Sofia, July 7 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang opened a business forum within the 7th China-CEEC Leaders' Meeting here on Saturday.

In his opening remarks, Bulgarian Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov said that the initiative is a good foundation for expanding cooperation in high technologies, investments, industrial partnerships, joint ventures, infrastructure, transport, agriculture, energy and tourism.

The Minister thanked the Chinese government for the active policies and practical steps in encouraging Chinese companies to expand their presence in the region. The Bulgarian Economy Ministry will support and promote all initiatives in the interest of the good cooperation between the countries, said Karanikolov.

Addressing the forum, Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan said that in the past eight years the China-CEEC business forum has become an important platform for cooperation. "Saturday's business forum is held under the motto of deepening the open and pragmatic cooperation for inclusive prosperity," Zhong said, noting that the forum has brought together 1,000 representatives of the business and government of China and Central and Eastern European countries.
