Sofia, July 9 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev Monday cabled condolences to Japanese Emperor Akihito about the victims of the floods and landslides triggered by "historic" levels of torrential rain in Japan, Radev's press secretariat said.

In the cable Radev expresses sympathy to the injured and wishes for speedy recovery of the affected areas.

The heaviest rainfall seen in Japan for decades has caused destruction over large parts of the country, particularly in Hiroshima and other parts of the south-west, making it difficult for authorities to assess the damage and the number of casualties.
