Justice Minister Tsacheva
Wants Check into How
She Acquired Property in Sofia

Sofia, March 22 (BTA) - Justice Minister Tsetska Tsacheva has informed the Chairman of the Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission and the Prosecutor General that she wants a check into the way she acquired an apartment in Sofia, she told journalists on Friday.

According to recent media reports, Tsacheva purchased an apartment in the capital for a price lower than the market one, similarly to GERB Floor Leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

Tsacheva told journalists that she had purchased the apartment before the construction works were completed, hence the lower price.

The Justice Minister requested that the check look into the origin of the resources with which she purchased the property and determine whether there is a conflict of interest, abuse of power, as well as any other violations in her contractual relations with the seller. "I am ready to cooperate during the check, I give my agreement to have my only account disclosed. I do not have offshore accounts, I do not own companies," Tsacheva said, adding that she will insist that the results of the check be made public.

She also said she will not comment on the matter again until the check is completed.
