Dimiter Georgiev Appointed Chairman of State Agency for National Security

Sofia, March 20 (BTA) - President Rosen Plevneliev appointed
former Deputy Interior Minister Dimiter Georgiev as Chairman of
the State Agency for National Security (SANS), the President's
Press Secretariat reported on Friday.

The presidential decree is dated March 18, the very day that the
government proposed Georgiev for the post. He replaced Vladimir
Pisanchev, who resigned as SANS Chairman on March 6.

The appointment of the new SANS Chairman and a new Chief
Secretary of the Interior Ministry were coordinated between
President Plevneliev and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on March
6, when the two met in the President's offices during a month of
political consultations between Plevneliev and the
parliamentary parties.
