Run-Off Elections to be Conducted in 1,128 Communities


Sofia, October 28 (BTA) - Run-off elections will be conducted in 1,128 communities after last Sunday's first round of voting in the Bulgarian local elections, Central Election Commission Spokesman Tsvetozar Tomov said on Wednesday.

These include 133 municipalities, 970 mayoralties, and 25 boroughs in the cities of Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, where the people will be electing mayors.

Small changes are possible in these numbers, because 1.5 per cent of the tally sheets from the Sofia elections are still unprocessed, Tomov said.
