Culture Minister Rashidov Pays Working Visit to Germany

Sofia/Berlin, February 23 (BTA) - During a working visit to Germany, Bulgarian Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov received support for Bulgaria's ambitious programme to present the best of its culture during the Bulgarian EU Council Presidency in 2018, Rashidov's Ministry said in a press release Tuesday. In Berlin on Tuesday Rashidov conferred with Siegmund Ehrmann, Chairman of the Committee on Cultural and Media Affairs in the German Bundestag.

Rashidov said that Germany is a very important country for Bulgaria concerning cultural exchange.

Ehrmann said that in addition to Bulgaria's historical and archaeological heritage, his country wants to see modern Bulgarian art.

Later on Tuesday Rashidov is scheduled to confer with the management of the Berlin Staatsoper.

The Bulgarian Culture Minister also attends the opening of an exhibition of modern Bulgarian paintings and sculptures in the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin.
