All Farming Sectors Report Growths, Agriculture Minister Says

Plovdiv, Southern Bulgaria, February 24 (BTA )- All farming sectors report growths, despite the financially hard 2015 year, Agriculture and Food Minister Dessislava Taneva said on Wednesday at the opening of the 25th edition of the Agra International Farming Exhibition here.

Taneva said that despite the extremely difficult year, a growth is reported in animal breeding, with the exception of the dairy sector. The upward trend in selective breeding persisted, meaning that the measures undertaken in its support by the Ministry yielded results. Organic farming reported the biggest increase. Growth is also observed in perennial plants and vegetable growing.

The Minister said it was a positive sign that at the exhibition the Agricultural Academy offers new plant varieties and new technologies to improve the efficiency of Bulgarian farmers.
