Education Ministry Creates Experimental Work for 62,000 Pupils

Sofia, April 7 (BTA) - The Education and Science Ministry has drawn up a national programme for ensuring a modern educational environment in aid of the modernization of vocational training. The programme will fund the modernization of the teaching and learning environment in 25 vocational schools and the experimental work of 62,000 pupils in 1,750 schools, Deputy Prime Minister and Education and Science Minister Meglena Kuneva said, speaking at a conference entitled, "Innovations for Better Education".

One of the aims of the programme is to provide conditions and equipment for experiments and tests of natural science pupils. Other aims include the renovation of special equipment, labs and workshops and provide practical training in real-life working conditions.

The budget of the programme is 5.2 million leva. Two million leva are earmarked for modernization of vocational training, 2.3 million leva for improving the experimental work in natural sciences and 800,000 leva for full-day schooling.
