Defence Minister Nominates  Air Force Commander

Sofia, August 23 (BTA) - Defence Minister Nikolai Nenchev has nominated Gen. Tsanko Stoikov as Air Force Commander to place Gen. Roumen Radev, who resigned earlier this month. Nenchev himself said this before journalists before the meeting of the Reformist Bloc Executive Board.

Asked when the new Air Force Commander will be elected, Nenchev replied that this would hopefully happen at the beginning of September. Asked about his preferred candidate, Nenchev pointed out the name of Stoikov, who is Bulgaria's Defence Attache in the USA.
