Social Policy Minister Speaks of  Next Stage of Child Deinstitutionalisation Plan

Blagoevgrad (Southwestern Bulgaria), August 25 (BTA) - Labour and Social Policy Minister Zornitsa Roussinova Thursday said that yet another stage in the deinstutionalising of children is forthcoming. The Council of Ministers will adopt the next plan in September. It envisages reformed services at the remaining homes for children denied parental care and the removal of 650 children from such homes and ensuring accompanying measures to further develop care for about 4,000 children, Roussinova said.

The ministry is working actively with the National Association of Municipalities to determine the funding for each municipality. About 180 million leva are available under Operational Programme Human Resources Development and slightly over 50 million leva from OP Regions in Growth.

The Ministry is also working actively to help disabled people in need of special services. The results are expected to be seen next year.
