site.btaResearchers at Sofia University Develop Online Philosophy Thesaurus in English

Sofia, January 4 (BTA) - A team of philosophy researchers at the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia is developing an online philosophy dictionary titled "Thesaurus. Sofia University Dictionary of Philosophy", the university said on Tuesday.

The dictionary presents the contributions of philosophers to the formation and expansion of philosophical language. Thinkers not only ascribe philosophical meaning to words from literary and everyday language but often invent new words to be able to present their concepts and ideas more adequately. Authors from foreign universities are also involved in developing the dictionary and are already engaged in writing articles for the Thesaurus, Sofia University added.

The editors of the dictionary are Ivan Kolev, Christo Stoev, Vladimir Theoharov, and George Gherjikov from the Philosophy Faculty at Sofia University, with Todor Polimenov from the Logic, Ethics, and Aesthetics Faculty. The dictionary is a research project of the Philosophy Faculty.

The publication of the dictionary was supported by a project implemented in 2021 with the help of the Research Fund of the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. YV/VE
