Sofia, August 14 (BTA) - The consumer price index in July was 100.3 per cent compared to June. Monthly inflation stood at 0.3 per cent, the National Statistical Institute said Monday.

The inflation rate in July 2017 compared to December 2016 stood at 1.0 per cent, and inflation in July 2017 compared to a year earlier was 1.3 per cent.

The annual average inflation in the last 12 months (August 2016 - July 2017) compared to the previous 12 months (August 2015 - July 2016) was 0.9 per cent.

Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices dropped by 0.1 per cent in July. Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices remained unchanged from June, while housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel prices rose by 0.8 per cent.

In July the prices of services increased as follows: in entertainment and culture by 7.1 per cent, in education by 0.1 per cent, and in restaurants and hotels by 1.0 per cent.
