Sofia, June 28 (BTA) - Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) for Bulgaria deputy floor leader Zhelyu Boichev is leaving the leadership of the parliamentary group and will soon be out of Parliament and politics for personal reasons, opposition BSP leader Kornelia Ninova told journalists Thursday after meeting with him. She said that he is leaving politics for business and that there has been no conflict with the Socialist party leadership.

Ninova said his fellow party members tried to dissuade him but he had made a firm decision to leave.

Boychev said that "there is no drama with the leadership or the colleagues in the parliamentary group". "This is a personal decision related to future occupations," he added.

The news media recall that Boychev used to head a parliamentary ad hoc committee probing plans for a controversial acquisition of the local assets of Czech energy group CEZ by an obscure Bulgaran company.

Boychev served on the Sofia Municipal Council before he was nominated for MP.
