site.btaPM Borissov: Bulgaria Wants Firm Date for Entry into Euro-zone "Waiting Room"

Brussels, June 29 (BTA corr. Nikolay Jeliazkov) - Speaking before Bulgarian reporters here on Friday, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said that his country expects to be given a firm date for entry into the Euro-zone "waiting room". Later in the day Borissov is expected to present Bulgaria's bid for entry into ERM II at an extended meeting of the state and government heads of the countries in the Eurogroup.

"[Entry into] the banking union and the euro waiting room should take place on the same day. We are ready. I agree to having the relevant monitoring but also a firm date that this will take place; these are the rules. I do not want to dwell on dates, everyone is very sensitive," Borissov said.

The Prime Minister said that according to the latest data, the Bulgarian debt decreased by one per cent, which in his words, will be one more argument to support Bulgaria's bid for joining ERM II.
