site.btaNational Art Exhibition Dedicated to Female Artists Opens in Burgas
A joint national exhibition called Ladies' Gambit was unveiled here on Tuesday. It pays tribute to female artists on the eve of International Women's Day on March 8.
The exhibition, organised by Artists Society - Burgas, features 49 art works by 33 female artists from all over the country. They were selected by a three-member jury among all applicants.
Ladies' Gambit is organised in the place of the traditional exhibition dedicated to young artists. This decision of Artists Society - Burgas was prompted by the lack of an active group of young artists. "We hope to restore the youth format next year and keep the gambit," said Artists Society - Burgas Chairman Dobrin Vatev.
