site.btaMagic Show Celebrates Mr Senko's 119th Anniversary in Vratsa
The 119th birth anniversary of magician and illusionist Evstati Karayonchev, better known in Bulgaria as Mister Senko, was celebrated with a magic show in Vratsa on Thursday night. The event hosted by Alexander Marinkov saw magicians Valermo, Veso Show, Ivox Magics, Dimitar Dimitrov, Juliano, Alexander Georgiev, Georgi Evtimov and Hristo Gomezh show their skills.
The magic show was under the auspices of Vratsa Mayor Kalin Kamenov. Mister Senko's daughter-in-law, Stefanka Karayoncheva-Senko, told BTA that Senko used to have a few tricks prepared up his sleeve. This way, he would be able to entertain his fans, if they stopped him on the street.
His most famous illusion, taking his head off his shoulders, was performed for the first time in Leipzig back in 1939. The trick won second place at a competition there, which came with a cash prize that Senko used to build his home, Karayoncheva-Senko shared.
