More than 150 teachers participated in the national KLETT-TAG conference for German language teachers in Sofia, the organizers from the Klett Bulgaria publishing house said Monday. A special highlight of the conference was the official awards ceremony for the winners of the 14th National German Language Competition.
Leading experts from the country and abroad shared the new trends in education and the most up-to-date methods and resources for increasing motivation and engagement in the classroom. Participants had the opportunity to discuss innovative practices to optimize the learning process to the needs of today's students.
"Over the years, KLETT-TAG has established itself as a catalyst for positive change in German language education in the country. This has been made possible by creative Bulgarian teachers who never stop sharing their experiences and reinventing new opportunities for their students' development," said Klett Bulgaria head Vladimir Kolev.
During the conference, a practical workshop was held on effective classroom management, maintaining motivation and building a positive learning environment in German classes. Prof. Maria Grozeva-Minkova and Dr Stanislava Ilieva presented an interactive presentation on developing oral and written communication. Jennifer Swanda, a specialist in learning German as a foreign language, revealed the potential of innovative textbooks and digital platforms for language learning.
Students from different cities who excelled with high scores in levels A1 - C1 at the 14th National German Language Competition and their teachers were awarded for their achievements.
