"The parliamentary groups of GERB - UDF, BSP – United Left and There Is Such a People (TISP) remain committed to their positions that Bulgaria needs a Parliament-elected government that will implement policies supporting the rule of law, economic competitiveness, security, protection, and citizens' social rights," the three parliamentary entities said in a position posted on GERB's Facebook page on Tuesday.
They reacted to a decision made public earlier in the day by the Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (DRF) Parliamentary Group that the DRF are leaving the ruling majority.
"Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone, the stabilization of public finances, and the rescue of the funds under the Recovery and Resilience Plan remain the clear priorities of the government which has been rendered up with the support of the parliamentary majority composed of GERB-UDF, BSP - United Left and TISP," the tree entities said.
"Despite the decision of the DRF, the coalition partners remain steadfast in our determination to deliver on the priorities and commitments we have assumed to Bulgarian society. We are adamant that Bulgarian citizens will not agree to new early parliamentary elections and expect from the parties in the National Assembly predictability, sustainability and working together to solve problems, not to create new crises," the position reads.
"We call on all MPs in the 51st National Assembly who believe that Bulgaria should complete its path of full integration into the European Union by joining the Eurozone, and that our country needs stability and work on policies that ensure a secure environment for Bulgarian citizens, to prove this by their votes and their work in the National Assembly."
