By an old French tradition, the third Thursday of November every year is when wine enthusiasts welcome the young Beaujolais wine, and for almost 20 years now this tradition has been observed in Bulgaria. The credit for that goes to the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), which every year gathers the country's business and political elite for a reception to celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau.

During the ceremony at the Boyana Residence, FBTIC President Stéphane Delahaye said that 110 countries around the world are celebrating the arrival of the 2024 vintage of Beaujolais wine. He stressed that Beaujolais Nouveau is a distinctive brand of France and an undeniable global success with over 16 million bottles sold worldwide, which contributes to increasing the attractiveness of the country.

Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova addressed told Delahaye that he is the best lobbyist for the advancement of Bulgarian-French business relations.

French Ambassador Joël Meyer pointed out that this year is special because it is the 145th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and France, and today's celebration is another occasion before the end of the year to mark the economic partnership between the two countries.
