The economic relations' potential between Bulgaria and Turkiye is immense and still not fully utilized, Chair of the Board of the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTCCI) Burhan Nemutlu said in Vratsa on Friday during the business forum Regional Opportunities for Financing and Business Development. BTCCI is one of the organizations supporting the event.

Nemutlu noted that trade and economic relations between the two countries are progressing positively, with Turkiye being one of Bulgaria's leading partners. The high level of economic activity is driven by geographical proximity and the potential of the Turkish economy and market. Approximately 70 major Turkish companies operate in Bulgaria, with investments exceeding EUR 2 billion and creating over 15,000 jobs, Nemutlu said.

"I sincerely hope today's forum opens the doors to cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Turkiye, providing a unique opportunity to build connections with leading Turkish companies and investors," Nemutlu said. He added, "United and cohesive, we can achieve more for business, the region, and the country."

The forum was attended by representatives of some of the largest Turkish companies investing in Bulgaria, as well as officials from local authorities in Turkiye.
