RES Share in Gross Final Energy Consumption Up in 2023, Y/Y

In 2023, compared to the previous year, an increase in the share of renewable energy in gross final energy consumption in the country was observed - by 3.51 percentage points, whereby it reached 22.55%, said the National Statistical Institute on Monday.

The sectoral shares of renewable energy also showed an increase compared with 2022, as the largest increase was reported in electricity produced from renewable sources - by 9.35 percentage points, to 29.43%, followed by the renewable energy for heating and cooling - by 3.23 percentage points, reaching a share of 34.88%.

The smallest increase was reported in renewable energy in transport fuel consumption - by 0.43 percentage points, to 8.09%.
