The 18th furniture exhibition Expomebel will take place at the Inter Expo Center (IEC) on March 13-16, 2024. It is traditionally organized by IEC and the Bulgarian Branch Chamber of Woodworking and Furniture Industry, the Chamber said. Expomebel is a platform for companies to showcase innovations in design, furniture, interior design, and office, hotel, and home furnishings.

The event is open to furniture companies and their partners, as well as end customers.

Expomebel presents the latest interior and exterior furniture solutions. Visitors will be able to see modular and upholstered furniture, interior textiles, tables and chairs, office and garden furniture, mattresses, and mattress frames.

The furniture industry in Bulgaria generates about 3% of this country’s GDP, the Chamber said, adding that the sector employs over 55,000 people. Furniture production in Bulgaria amounts to EUR 614 million, according to 2022 statistics from the National Statistical Institute, Ciela, and APIS. This country ranks 19th in furniture exports, 21st in production, 24th in consumption, and 25th in imports, according to European rankings. Furniture made in Bulgaria sells well abroad due to its good quality and price. The main export markets for Bulgaria in 2022 were Romania, Greece, Poland, France, Germany, the Czechia, and Italy.
