site.btaPolice Seize 1 Tonne of Liquor with No Excise Duty

More than 1,000 litres of alcohol without excise duty documents were seized during a police operation in Silistra region on Wednesday, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior reported.

After preliminary operational work, the officers checked a private home in the village of Profesor Ishirkovo, where they found 10 plastic bottles containing a liquid smelling like rakia. The alcohol was seized, and pre-trial proceedings were initiated.

Nearly 600 motor vehicles and 768 persons were checked as part of the police operation. This resulted in 141 administrative violation reports and 17 warning reports under the Ministry of Interior Act.
